Photo Shoot 2: Careers (Tattoo Artist)



Finally free from her father's constant supervision, Ariel finally has the opportunity to pursue her lifelong dream... to become a tattoo artist. Screw the princes and "thingamabobs" of the human world. Ariel drops the songbird act and discovers her artistic talent. She packs up her belongings, bids farewell to her sisters, and heads out to climb the body ink career ladder. 

Flounder is too much of a guppy, so Ariel is forced to practice on herself. 

She looks fabulous though. 

She also took your advice and joined Weight Watchers. She's in it to win it.

Jensen: This is stunning. I got it right away when I saw your image. Most tattoo artists are covered in tattoos and piercings. You look gorgeous and everything is perfect for me.

ReI: Jensen took the words right out of my mouth: this shot is stunning. I never thought I'd see a tattooed Ariel, but I'm not complaining. I can see this working for your chosen career and I love the level of detail put into this shot. I love that I can get a sense of a story from this shot. Great work. Oh, and you don't look fat, so you can stop dieting.

On the negative side of things, your hands are not proportional to each other. One is quite heftier. Your hair goes quite high and not because you're laying down. You remind me of a queen I once met in a field of daisies. What a time we had that night. *laughs* Hm? Oh yes, your photo. The top of your head is causing a poof. What product are you using? I could use a bit of sprucing myself. Lastly, I'm worried about your weight. I can see your ribs. That's not normal for your species. On the positive end, I absolutely love this photo and everything I just said is me nitpicking. Your eyes stick out the most to me. Love them. Very well done.

YES! I was right! That's good for you because it means you at the very least chose a career that we understand. It was a risk to go for something not completely obvious, but I believe it paid off for you. Well done.

Like the other judges i love the shot as Well i cna tell exactly what your going for and i think thats important there is no searching for what your trying to say

For my career, I have chosen that of a professional dancer. Non, c'est ne pas vrai. I am lying. I have chosen the career of a spy.

You see, spying is something that I am intimately familiar with in my daily life. To be a proficient spy, one must be able to disguise oneself. I lure my prey through the guise of a lady, traveling through town as I desire and gaining information through charm, wit, and the occasional bribe. In la Louisiane, they never suspect that I am more than a wealthy Creole woman. They never suspect that I keep blades up my sleeve and can slit throats as needed.

Jensen: Dancer made more sense to me. I get spy, but I just thought this really looks like a dancer lol Someone from La Isla Bonita. Your pose is nice. I dont' mind that you went with spy because I can see that when you give the round down.

Rei: I appreciate that you were trying to take a step further with your choice in career, but I think that was a misstep. While creativity is generally a good thing, sometimes the most obvious route is the one you should take. It would have been more than enough this round that your career was something other than what your character normally does. Had you gone with Assassin as your career, then I think that's where you would have been docked for not taking a chance. That said, I'm also not a fan of this art style. The severe lack of detail in your face isn't doing it for me. On the plus side, I do like your posing and I think the dress has promise.

Not sure I like it at all. The arms are very awkward looking in my opinion. The rest of this, it feels a bit mediocre honestly. Your dress covers everything and we get no form through it. I fear I won't remember this very well in comparison to the others.

Uh. Really? Spy? I read the first line where you said you were a professional dancer and I grinned, thinking I was right. Then you pop out "spy" and I'm just dumbfounded. Which is very hard to do. Well, except for Marilyn Monroe surprising me on the TARDIS on our honeymoon... You chose the wrong occupation IMO, which will hurt you very much considering I wasn't that big a fan of your photo to begin with. I don't know why you overcomplicated things.

I dont get spy when i first look at it the first thing that did come to mind for me too was well shes a dancer. I think you need to be careful with what your trying to portray. and i agree im not a fan of the style as well

Career - Figure Skater


Perhaps I'm still mourning the end of Sochi 2014, but I fell in love with this picture the moment I saw it. The blank background and the fact that you can’t see her other leg bothered me at first, but now I like it because it puts more emphasis on the stunning pose she’s performing with her upper body. It does a beautiful job at accurately portraying the mix of elegance and athleticism that is figure skating.

Jensen: I love this. Very beautifully done. I like the colouring and everything. Good job!

Rei: This shot had a lot of potential that's been mostly realized. I love that you're giving us angles here and it's easy to see your career. However, I would have liked this shot to be pulled out a bit. I didn't need to see the rest of your other leg, but I don't like where your elbow and skirt are cut off. The leg being cut out like it is can ben seen as intentional. However, when the elbow and the skirt are abruptly like they are, it looks like a mistake. Other than that, this is a great shot.

this is definitely what i saw when i looked at it . I think the background is a little bland but the modeling and the art makes up for that in a big way

Loooovveee this! The posing is perfection. Such a nice tough, grabbing your blade. The dress is gorgeous, loving the jewelry and the part I love most are your eyes. Bold enough to stand out and going straight for the camera. It adds an eeries essence. Great work!

Entrepreneuse


For my career, I'm portraying a high powered entrepreneuse. Being an entrepreneuse, I need to maintain a social profile to boost my business's profile. I'm arriving at a business party in this picture.

Jensen: Sexy, gorgeous, high powered business woman. I really love this photo. I love the splashes of colour in an otherwise over powering blue image. It's gorgeous all around.

Rei: I love your outfit in this shot; very stylish while still being you. I can see your career in this shot and it's an interesting, but effective angle on the shot. I do have a slight problem with how your face is drawn in this shot. A little on the drag queen side. Other than that, it's a very nice shot.

Its a very nice shot and i like the details. I do see the character but had it not been for the description i think id of missed it

Guessing your career was a bit hard. The limo suggests something high class, but you're not wearing business clothing and you have alcohol in your hand. So it suggests more of a relaxed tone. So I'm guessing heiress. Loving the face, the hair and most everything else. The one trouble I do have is your right leg. It just vanishes off behind you. I understand you're still getting out of the limo, but it still stuck out as awkward for me. The stitch work on the pants btw...I'm not a fan of. I've not seen bad stitch work like that since the scarf I wore many many many years ago. It'd work well if the whole outfit looked that way, but it's not...so it doesn't.

Damn! I was close though. The more relaxed look through me in the wrong direction. I wouldn't be too worried though. You have a good photo and you look sexy as hell. Good job.

Harley Quinn as a Clown

Jensen: Clown is predictable with you. Some of us were hoping to see nurse, although I know you told me you couldn't find a nurse picture you liked. Shame because Jamie did and it would have probably netted you first call out. This is cute but lacks the oomph we want from you.

Rei: Your stripper shot would have scored higher from me. I'm not a big fan of your clown shot. It's a little too expected from you. I do like your pose, but it's hard for me to get excited about this shot when it's basic and expected. I understand needing to submit something when you don't have the time to find something better (I've been there, myself), but I have to score based off of the shot itself.

Like Jensen said i was able to find a shot that worked well for your nurses shot. But i understand the rush in needed to find a photo too. That said i think the background is too bland for me to get past and the shot is boring to me

Um. You're just...you. There's nothing special about this photo which points us to a career for this theme that I can see. You have some nice curves going on, so that works in your favor. The pose is nice, but it lacks something to make it special. I'm picking criminal because you're just yourself and as yourself...you're a criminal.

Eep! You made a few dangerous errors here I think. Firstly, you chose something we see you in daily. It's like a nerd dressing up as a nerd for Halloween. It just doesn't work. Secondly, Harley Quinn doesn't dress as a clown. Harley Quinn dresses as a harlequin (hence her name), which is essentially a mime. I wish you the best of luck cause you have SOOO much potential. I think if you survive...learn to step it up a bit, both in logic and creativity.

Career: Athlete

This may at first seem to be a bit of a stretch. While the sport here, pro-bending, isn't a sport we play in reality, the job in Korra's world is very much the same as it is in this one.


Like most sports, pro-benders must rely on speed and dexterity, as well as focus and teamwork. They must learn to work together as a group before they are able to win as a team. I selected this because I wanted to show off Korra's athletic side. She's a fighter and a very sporty person, so it made sense to embrace that. Even if she plays a different game a different way than most athletes most people know, she still very much is one.

Jensen: The fighting positions help you sell this. Your angry face isn't the best but it works with the fighting theme. You also stand out perfectly while the boys take back stage to you. Nice job.

Rei: This might be one of those times where my lack of familiarity with a character could help you since I have no idea if this is an expected route for you or not. You've done a good job selling your career and I agree with Jensen that the angry face isn't normally going to be appealing, but helps sell the shot. Also, despite this being a group shot, you're still the focus, so you've avoided that potential pitfall. It's a definite step up from last round.

like rei i have no idea who your character is so that helps i think jensen makes a fine point you do stand out and thats what needs to be shown is that your able to outshine the others around you

No doubt, professional fighter. One of my favorite story arcs in her series. I applaud your choice to have this be a group photo. You steal the spotlight, which is always key in these situations. So you chose well in that aspect. As for your posing, it works great for your chosen career...but most of your body is covered by either your bending or lost in your crouch. We lose a lot of your form. I'm on the fence with this one. So much good with some bad.

#2 Mechanic

Jensen: I am very glad you chose this photo. It's sexy and yet, obvious. We can see you're a mechanic and it works wonderfully. I like your pose and your huge boobs in this photo. Although I'm not saying to make that a habit lol But this is really good.

Rei: I do like that you've gone the mechanic route this time. You may still be in your wheelhouse with the setting, but it's not the obvious Space Captain route, so I appreciate you giving us something different here. The nipples showing kinda violate the terms of service agreement of the board, so there is that problem. Your eye doesn't bother me at all here. It's done in a manner that elevates the normal art style while still not looking off. Overall, it's a fairly solid shot.

I like that the sweat is coming off so it gives me a realistic feel towards the image and allows for a better connection to it. I like this

The career is a no-brainer. The artwork, I'm not a fan of. So many things gone wrong anatomically. There's not much of a pose and TBH while the grease could be a turn on, the sweat is not. lol Not a big fan of this one, but your career choice was perfect.

I was right, obvi. It was a great choice as I said. I feel bad I'm the only one that doesn't like this photo though.

Librarian

Jensen: oh la la! Sexy!!! I really like this side of you Morrigan. Sexy nerdy librarian. Love the long legs. The red in a B&W photo. Very nice!!

Rei: This is definitely a different concept and it's taken me a minute to take it all in. This is an interesting take on a black and white shot (with pops of color) for a fictional character. Oh, and it's good that you clarified Librarian for us instead of leaving it as Librarian or Secretary. Librarian is what it obviously is, but when asked to choose a theme, had you tried to choose two to cover your bases, I'd probably tank the shot in my scores for it. I do like your pose here as it's a stereotypical sexy librarian pose and styling. I have decided that I'm not a fan of the black and white aspect of this photo since I don't feel it adds anything to the shot that wouldn't have been present in a color shot. Still, it's solid work.

The first thing i saw when i looked at this was Libarian. Secretary might work but i think for me youd of had to sell it a little more. But i like the pose you look hot so thats a plus

A dirty librarian. I like a good library. Have you ever been to The Library? The whole planet is a library. It's an amazing place to visit. Well...was. Not so much at the moment. Although, moments are a matter of time. I'm off topic again. Sorry. Where was I? Oh yes. Bold choice in art style, but I think it works for you. The eyes, lips and blouse are piercing. The pose is good, but not great. You look like you belong, but aren't a spinster. lol

Photoshoot #2 - Career

Chapter 2: Imagination is the beginning of creation

Rapunzel: Tough week for me, but I decided to submit the photo above because I want you guys to see a different side of me. Less-cute and more serious. You definitely can see her career in this photo from the props. Hope you guys like it. 

Jensen: I like the angle of this photo and I really like the props and the obviousness of you being an artist. I'm glad you mentioned the less cute part because lets be honest, you look like a man lol Very good image though.

Rei: Your career is clearly defined in the shot and it's an unexpected route, so both aspects of what I'm looking for in the theme this round have been met perfectly. It's different art style than last round, but it's still very detailed. One part that's striking me a bit odd if the color palette. Somehow those exact shades make the shot feel a bit grainy. I don't see the part where Jensen thinks you look like a man.

I can see what jensen saying but i think its mostly in the face and i can see what rei is saying about the paint making it look grainy too

The 2 things that popped out the most for me are 1) what is near your wrist? A tattoo? Looks too intended to be paint. Plus the fact there's no paint anywhere else on you (which btw a true artist would have splats all over) and 2) your face looks manquinn-like. I like the artwork, but a lot feels wrong and I can't place it exactly. You look like a doll, posed for the child to play.

You didn't specify, but it's such an obvious career choice I think i'm right in the assumption. It's decent photo. There are some good things, but overall...it just feels faked.

PHOTOSHOOT 2

Theme: Career [Pole Dancer]

Who's ready for some entertainment? Yes, this is Sesshomaru being a pole dancer. I think for every InuYasha's fans, it's a dream to see him pole dancing. I'd like to be unexpected for the ladies this week. I think i made pole dancing look cool and not trashy here.
Now give me fco.. to see more.

Jensen: I really like this. I love the muscles and the pose and the uniqueness of the job you went with. My complaint is that outfit though. You look like you have a tail. Otherwise, good job.

Rei: And here I thought you were joking about going with Pole Dancer as your career. As far as unexpected goes, I think you've definitely taken the most unexpected route this round while still nailing the theme in a solid manner. I love the sensual, yet slightly predatory stance of this shot and I love the way your hair is flowing. Great work.

I think you took a huge risk with this shot but it paid off i like it i love how the pole looks you dont look too awkward and i think its a great shot

The posing is perfection. The perfect show of muscularity and the direct stare sets this off just right. The hair will be a difficult thing to overcome in some photos, so be weary of that. You did great with it here. Great job. I just love this.

A pole dancer! LOL! I guessed Martial Artist, assuming that was a bo staff. *facepalm* That's on me, not you because it really works just as well for a pole dancer and probably more considering the stare. lol You're trying to seduce us judges!

Tour  Guide




"Tour Guides are responsible for helping people to visit unfamiliar areas. They usually make special trips with groups of tourists in order to show them important places. Their work is very useful for visitors who are for the first time in some areas, because these professionals are very knowledgeable and provide valuable information to people."

Jensen: Gorgeous! Love the connection with the camera and the colouring of the photo. Love the hour glass shape. I really like this a lot.

Rei: I'm not used to seeing your hair like this. It's a nice change of pace and shows a different side of you. It's a simple pose, but striking at the same time. I love your outfit, too. I'm trying to find something to criticize here, but it's difficult. This is just a great shot.

I can see what your going for and it looks great i think there may be a few things that would of sold it better but even without it it does well. And i love the connection to the camera

I was originally going to guess Park Ranger, but the staff kept sticking in my head. People tend to carry a staff on long hikes. You only go hiking professionally in so few occupations...so I chose the one that seems most logical. The pose is dull. Sorry, but it is. You're literally just standing there. On the bright side, you're absolutely gorgeous. Physically, you're flawless in everything else I feel. The face is great, the hair flows nicely to stick out but not take over and we see all of your limbs; none are awkwardly hidden. You look confident which I love.

Me as a Librarian, boy there are a lot of books that I need to put up.

Jensen: This is ok. I definitely see the theme. I like the little tie and outfit. You're sleeping though lol Librarians don't sleep on the job. Not horrible though.

Rei: It's a definite step up from last round. There's more detail to the shot, which makes it more appealing. I don't like that your eyes are closed here since as Jensen said, a good librarian wouldn't be sleeping on the job like that. The posing could also be a bit stronger but as I said earlier, this is a step up.

there are a few things wrong like they mentioned and i think its things tat greatly make the photo better i agree its a step up

I'm picking libararian...and telling you right now...you are HORRIBLE at your job! LOL Asleep AND there's a mess. Tsk tsk. Sadly, I'm not a fan of this all that much. Your legs are bending inward, which is awkward. That book covers your midsection, which could have sold this shot more. Then you have your mouth partially open. So all I can think of is you drolling in your sleep. lol It's a cute photo, but it just doesn't feel "model" to me.
