Photo Shoot 6 - Props
CRITIQUES
Grell
Jensen: I really like the styling in this photo. It's very nice. I really like this photo overall, but the pipe is kind of hard to see. Well, not see cuz it's obvious, but tell what it is because the flower and ribbon distract at the end that I didnt' realize it was a pipe at all. I really like this photo over all though, so good job.
Ariel: Grell, my darling. As you know I love you and the versatility you bring, but this is once again very middle-of-the-road for me. It's not bad by any means but isn't impressing me as much as it should. An interesting shot. Your profile is great to look at but the overall quality of the photo is a little grainy. Not living for the outfit. Again, this is just okay boo!
Doctor: In regards to your proper usage of your prop...you've barely passed. Without the prop, there would be a question of awkward posing...but other than that, nothing would really change. The prop (while clever and could've been amazing)...doesn't quite work very well. As has been mentioned, the pipe is too busy. I also feel like it doesn't look like you're smoking, but rather like some form of essence is leaking out of you...which makes the pipe null & void. As for YOU...waist-up I love! Waist-down, is a waste of space. That's true for me with both the posing and the dress. The one thing I love most about this photo is your eye piercing through the camera. <3
Miku
Jensen: Wow! I really like this, it's so beautiful and high fashion. At first I was like, you should crop to make the microphone more prominent but then I see why you didn't. Your face draws me to the microphone and it's not tiny by any means so it's just fine for me. I really like this, great job.
Ariel: All of your shots are starting to run together for me. I would like to see something new from you besides a profile with flowing hair. That being said, this is great. I just wish your portfolio had a little more versatility.
Doctor: Your usage of a prop is...perfect. With the prop, you look like a modern day version of a sultry bar singer playing to the crowd. Without the prop, you look more like a drug addict who finally got their fix. xD So the prop makes a HUGE difference. <3 I agree with what Ariel told you btw. You're doing great, but remember what's needed to WIN. Variety in every aspect.
Ivy
Jensen: Like I said, if you're sitting on your prop, it better be spectacular. And this....................IS!!! I love everything about this. Your face, your body, those damn legs!! The way you're totally interacting with your prop. You're not just sitting on it, you're touching it. I just absolutely love this and welcome you back to the land of modeling!
Ariel: This is definitely a huge improvement from what we have been seeing from you Ivy! You are finally unlocking and utilizing your portfolio in a favorable way! This is really good and I'm so happy to see this from you! You finally don't look awkward or disproportional and your interaction with the prop is stunning! Amazing work this round, Ivy!
Doctor: Your usage of your prop is...excellent. Like a couple others here, remove the prop(s) and it just wouldn't be the same at all and it's because you're interacting so well with it. However, the photo doesn't RELY on the prop, so it's not perfect. I think you still look a bit manly in some parts, but you counter a lot of it with feminine aspects as well. This is a great photo and I'm glad you gave something good this time around.
Maleficent
Jensen: I actually thought the thing in your hand was your prop at first. I do like how you're owning that throne. And the body art is really cool. I love the profile shot as well. This is really good.
Ariel: You are most definitely showing off that modeling potential this round! You're owning the prop and owning this round. You look absolutely stunning despite the weird boob action going on! You know you look good girl, so there's not much to say here!
Doctor: Your usage of your prop is...excellent. Like a couple others here, remove the prop(s) and it just wouldn't be the same at all and it's because you're interacting so well with it. However, the photo doesn't RELY on the prop, so it's not perfect. I do think the addition of the orb pulls away from the prop intended (throne). Makes it feel more like part of the background than the actual prop. You? Stunning! You are absolutely dominating it and I just could not stop looking at this for a good 5 minutes. Great job!
Raven
Jensen: Your outfit is cool and your prop is prominent. I like this, but I'm not wow'd. It's a good photo overall though.
Ariel: And we're back to the old Raven. You're utilizing a prop but this is nothing to be gagging over.
Doctor: As I'm doing with ALL models in this shoot, I'm looking at the usage of the prop in how I score you guys. Essentially, if I can remove the prop and nothing changes within the photo itself (as if the prop isn't needed)...then IMO you've failed to use the prop properly. Sorry to tell you, Raven...but you failed. Remove the scepter and absolutely nothing changes in this photo. You still float like a doll in the sky. I love the change in outfit and hairstyle, but it's the only thing I like. This type of basic modelling is something you should long be past by now. I was hoping last round was a sign you were finally using what you've learned...but I see here, I was wrong.
Rikku
Jensen: Thank you for giving us a new outfit, but you've reverted back to Round 2 Rikku. I can barely see your prop to know what it is. I think you look super cute and I love the variety away from your original outfit, but I'm really worried for you this round.
Ariel: Agreed with Jensen. I love the new outfit and I thank you for changing it up for us! However, this is not good at all. You're hiding the prop you're highlighting behind your body and the modeling is lackluster.
Doctor: In regards to proper usage of your prop...you've failed. Not only would this photo be the same with or without the sword, but WITH the sword, you can barely even see it. You're blocking most of the prop out of view. Loving this outfit and I'm so glad you looked for something different, but I think you made the same mistake Raven made. You've dropped back to Round 1/2 modelling lessons, completely forgetting what you should've learned by now. The pose is generic and you've absolutely NO background (which we've asked you in the past to avoid).
Samus
Jensen: Wow. I am super impressed here. I am so glad you stepped away from typical. The pool table is obvious and you're interacting with your props. This photo is nicely drawn. Those balls look realistic. Your body is smoking hot. I just really really like this a lot!!
Ariel: So glad to see Zero-Suit Samus return! You're giving us pure sex here, but not in a super slutty and unappealing way. Very impressive and yes, not what we were expecting from you! This is really good!
Doctor: Your usage of your prop is...excellent. Like a couple others here, remove the prop(s) and it just wouldn't be the same at all and it's because you're interacting so well with it. However, the photo doesn't RELY on the prop, so it's not perfect. I'm actually getting sick of seeing you in the same 2 outfits. I hope you liven it up soon with something completely different. This photo is amazing though and I think you did a great job.
