Critiques #5 - Faceless Photos

[Jensen Ackles]

Jensen: I like this, it's tasteful and sexy. It's not one of my favourites but it's really good. There's too much white, the glare at the side really kills me. I really love the long hair winding down around you. Very nice job.

Ariel: DAT ASS! This is good and bad at the same time unfortunately. This was a tough photoshoot and it sucks because you've definitely been one of my favorites throughout this game. Jensen is correct in saying that there's too much flash (pun intended) in the shot. Also, the ass isn't right. Hips are very wide, ass crack is weird... I cannot believe I'm critiquing an ass. Anyways, it's an okay submission for the round, but I don't see this going anywhere near a FCO. Sorry hun

Doctor: Ariel's right about there being something off about your ass. The left ass cheek goes down too low and the right one has 2 creases. You shouldn't have 2 creases in the standing position. I even asked the hubby in RL to pose for me to double check my anatomy knowledge. xD Even the line of your back goes in too far. The artist is good, but needs to work on their anatomy skillset.

Jensen: I didn't vote for your reward, but I loved it lol And what I love as well is how night and day your reward and photo shoot are. While that one was hard core edgy and weird this one is so soft, serene and light. I really like this. I love the birds flying around you like this. Everything is beautiful and peaceful. Very nice job.

Ariel: I adore this because this can stand just as strong in a normal photoshoot. This round is interesting to me because it's really bringing out the stars of the competition. Congratulations on giving me everything I'm looking for without even having to use your face. This is such a strong submission and congratulations to you! I love your consistency in this competition!

Doctor: I feel like the birds take away from you a bit. Watch that in future shots. Don't ever let anything draw eyes off you. I also wish we saw more of your body. As is, we really only get your shoulder and back. The way your face is covered is flawless. One of the better ideas tonight. I think you did amazing. This is strong and so very emotional. I hope you can keep it up.

Jensen: Yes, masks were on the list, but was really hoping for masks that hid much more of the face. Like the example posted. But no biggie, it's a mask. While this photo is very lovely, I'm not sure it works 100% for me because everyone else managed to hide their faces really well. Love your lips and as usual, the hair.

Ariel: Oh wow this is awkward. I'm not going to lie and try to say I'm a fan of this shot. I feel like I'm constantly disappointed with your submissions. You have a VERY lovely model. She was actually one of my options on who I would choose if I played this series again. Unfortunately we always seem to get the weirdest and most unappealing shots on the internet. This isn't doing much better. Her face is awkward and the outfit is nothing be excited out. Step it up Ivy, before you get cut.

Doctor: This simply does not meet the theme. The theme wasn't "mask". It was "hide your face". Something which you did not do, because we can see your face quite clearly. For this, you will score very low for me. As for your modelling...what happened to your torso? It's as if you've had your entire stomach removed or something. It's very off. In fact, a lot of the proportions are off. I don't like this that much.

Jensen: I knew it was you without the proof but thanks for posting it I really like this. It's so tastefully done and artistic. I love the lines of your figure and how great your body looks. I really love everything about this.

Ariel: Welcome back Maleficent! Glad to see you bounce back from the lackluster shot last round! I love how artistic this shot is! Definitely wasn't what I was expecting from you, which makes me love it even more! Not much to say, but certainly nothing negative! Amazing submission in my eyes!

Doctor: Very well done. Glad to see you back in the game. I've nothing else to say about perfection.

Jensen: I absolutely love this. One of my favourites of the round. I love the way you're posed or walking, so regal. I love the booty pop and the whole overall colouring of this photo. It's really done well and IMO your best photo so far.

Ariel: OH MY GOD PERFECTION! Definitely not what I was expecting from you! This is so elegant and definitely your best photo! You have back in a huge way and I'm so excited we're getting to see it! I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this photo. Congratulations I seriously want to just hug you right now!!!!

Doctor: The way the bottom of your dress becomes transparent only adds to the mystery. It's as if you're stepping out of a magical fog. I don't see anything special about the way her hair is styled because...well...it's the same style you have in every photo. Even your avatar. However, I love the added detail to the hair. Not a fan of the way it's split though. I wish it were going to just one side or felt more naturally split if anything. I must say, vast improvement from you. If you want any chance to win this competition...you need to CONTINUE improving each and every photo shoot. Good job this week.

Jensen: Your body is nice and very well drawn. Despite not seeing your face, your body language reads depressed, probably from losing a battle. I think that's the whole feeling we're supposed to get. I hate the helmet and that's the thing that knocks you down for me. But I don't feel you're the worst.

Ariel: I agree with Jensen, unfortunately. This photo seems to have been going for the drama, but reads very lackluster. I'm not seeing any energy in this shot that makes it exciting to look at. Honestly, I had to force myself to take a second glance at this shot. Not memorable and nowhere near the Rikku we've been seeing.

Doctor: The modelling is weak. Your left hand is WAY too small for your proportions and your chest looks like it was mutilated. I'm not a fan of the outfit either TBH. Is this something you actually wear in the game or is this something the artist made up? Won't affect judging. Just moreso curious if anything. Like Jensen said, the body language is still very much readable. Almost as though you lost someone. So I give you props for pulling that off. I almost feel like you are a roller coaster in this competition. One weak you give us something amazing. The next it's shit. You need to figure out how to stop the ride and make it a continuous climb.

Jensen: I love the bit of face we can see here. Your skin looks flawless. Your body language reads fierce and strong. I love the little slivers of skin we can see. The outfit is a bit overbearing but I still think you own it too.

Ariel: I disagree once again with Jensen about the suit. I love it and I think it brings a lot to the shot! Sort of like a really huge and flashy accessory that only you get to utilize. This shot is definitely working it for me! Loving the profile and you know how to work a photo. Unlike some of the other girls... *glares at YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE* you have an eye for perfection. I love your taste and I thank you for giving us this beautiful image to look at!

Doctor: I absolutely love this. You nailed the faceless idea in a way no other model did and the use of shapes throughout the shot is spectacular. I'm in love with the shape work so much! <3 Your left arm looks a bit awkward though. Almost like it's broken. Overall though...this is easily one of the best tonight IMO. Excellent work.
