Photo Shoot 1 - Model Potential
CRITIQUES
Emilie De Rochefort
Jensen: WOW, I am in love with this. I love the pose, the hair, the outfit. You're a beautiful model. The only issue I have would be the neck area. The ruffles and the tie are so heavy and make your neck disappear. Otherwise, this is gorgeous!
Ariel: Ya know, I love it, but I'm not IN LOVE with it. The beauty is definitely there but I like to see a little more connection with the camera when judging modeling potential. That being said, it's very classic and a great start to the competition! Don't fall into being predictable is all I'm going to say right now as a little note for the future because there's not much more advice I can give for you to improve on.
Doctor: I have to agree fully with Jensen, but also add that your hair tends to cover a lot of your face (the sides). Seeing as that's your hair style, be on the look out for potential photos that could show us full face in the future. Other than that...I think this is a great start to the game. Great work.
Grell Sutcliff
Jensen: The problem for me here is the angle of this photo and the distracting background. Hard to focus on potential with so many distractions. I like the face and hair though. Just be careful about too many distractions when we just want a simple photo.
Ariel: This is really hard to judge because it's a little frightening. I make the connection between the character's twisted personality and the twisted photo, but I agree with Jensen in the fact that it's very distracting. Speaking of distractions, NEVER post an "I almost chose this" picture. All that does is set up a comparison and takes away from what you decided to submit. This is a good start, but I want to see better from you in future rounds.
Doctor: I completely agree with Ariel. Never show "I almost" pics. It shows a lack of confidence, which is contagious. There's too much going on between the background, the chaotic outfit & hair...not to mention the chainsaw. I'm not as bothered by the angle, but the pose itself is dull. It's just the beginning of the competition, so you've plenty of time to learn your strengths.
Hatsune Miku
Jensen: This is a bit busy but I really like the length of your legs and arms. And the pose gives you the boob and booty pop that is always attractive on women. Nice job.
Ariel: Holy shit I love this. I somewhat agree with Jensen in the fact that it's a little busy, but it doesn't take away from the beauty of the photo. The pose is fantastic. Not always a fan of a wide open mouth, but the potential you have as a model can definitely be seen. Fantastic start to this competition.
Doctor: Love it! Excellent start! I've nothing else to say.
Hinata Hyūga
Jensen: You took longer than I intended for an extension, but at least you submitted. I like the length of leg here and the arms are nice. It's also a bit busy but not like some others, so that's good.
Ariel: This is just okay for me. You look more like you're sliding into home base than modeling though. I understand the show and realize you're focusing your chakra and all that, but I would've loved to see a little more elegance in your selected pose. Being such a huge fan of the show, I'm left feeling slightly disappointed in this submission. But don't fret, because I know you have so much room to grow. I plead that you give us more model next round though (if you're here).
Doctor: Just a friendly warning. Be on time from here on. I like the profile you're giving us, but I feel like the emotion you convey is very flat. The pose is nice, but it looks more martial arts than model. To be honest, it's somewhat of a forgettable image.
Poison Ivy
Jensen: I like the centerfold feeling this photo has without being trashy. A bit too busy with the background but that's just minor. I love the pose and the body angles.
Ariel: The first thing I'm drawn to are your nipples. Must've been really chilly in that room, eh? Besides that, the picture is beautiful. I'm always a fan of the pin-up girl look, but please don't fall into submitting something like this every week. With Ivy as a character and outfit being... basically that, it will be easy to feel monotonous with your submissions. I challenge you to throw out the predictability of this character and wow us with your next submission. As for this shot, GREAT WORK!
Doctor: Why is there a sheen to every single thing? It looks like you just stepped out of a vat of oil. It's very unflattering and unpleasant to the eye. It's a good starting photo. You have a lot of potential. Spend a couple shots getting used to your pros and cons, then I think you need to show some out-of-the-box shots...then finish strong. Do this and you'll win the game.
Lana Kane
Jensen: Lana and I discussed this image as being allowed and I allowed it. She was worried about coming off too trashy with her portfolio. I do wish we could see more of the body and that might hurt you in over all ranks. What we do see, I really like. You are a sexy woman and I can't wait to see what else you can do in this game. I was just told that this is a screenshot, be careful of those, they're not always the greatest of quality for a model game.
Ariel: I don't love this. In fact, I don't even like it. Jensen approved it as a submission for this photoshoot, but that's only one judge's opinion. The theme of the round was "Potential" and to be honest, I don't see any here. I see a girl in a bikini sitting by the pool. You're not even compelling enough to have that obvious lesbian in the background check you out. As far as theme execution went this round, it's a fail for me. You look great, but there's also no connection with the camera. Damn, that's disappointing.
Doctor: Yeah...I think you chose very poorly. Not in the photo, but in your model. You are going to have a very difficult time in this competition and this photo shows exactly what I mean. It's something a teenage wannabe would submit because she thinks she's model worthy...when in reality she needs to go get a job at Costco.
Maleficent
Jensen: Wow, Ok, I was so not expecting this lol The pose is nice and the long legs are sexy but my favourite part is your face. It looks flawless and just gorgeous. Great job!
Ariel: A great start for you in this competition, but at the same time there are things I absolutely hate about this photo. Mal's face and pose are on point, but an element from your outfit is just so distracting and annoying. Wtf are with those stockings girl? That's not flattering at all and it's really messing with me while trying to judge this photo. I guess this is just me being picky, but try and be a little more fashion forward with your future submissions.
Yes, this coming from the girl who wears a fin every week. #Fyshocrite
Doctor: Personally, I think going sexy on this first shoot was a mistake. This shoot is for you to show us you and your skills. This photo, for me at least, doesn't convey your capabilities. All it conveys is dat ass. For what it is, it's a great shot. The pose is strong, your face is fierce and I think you made Ariel wet. Wait. No, she's just in fish form again. -.- *grabs a towel*
Raven Queen
Jensen: I really really really like this. The only thing stopping it from getting my first place rank, is the background. It's way too busy to appreciate the body here. I love the pose, the body, the angles and the smirk. Great start!
Ariel: I will agree with Jensen in the fact that the background is very distracting and takes away from this photo. In terms of modeling potential, however, you're on point. The outfit and pose are amazing and I'm loving your facial expression. It's definitely bringing some personality which I love. A fantastic submission... too bad a pinata threw up on your background.
Doctor: I despise the background. It's hideous and takes sooo much away from you by appearing to blend you within. Love the outfit. If I were a woman, I'd want to know where you shop. The pose is strong. Especially with the crossed legs. Such a nice touch. Good job.
Rikku
Jensen: This is good. While some might be distracted by the knives, your lack of background makes up for anything that could distract, so that's perfect. I love your legs and your cute pose. Your body is bangin'! Great start!
Ariel: Final Fantasy X and X-2 are my absolutely favorites from the FF series, with Rikku being my third favorite character from the series (I just love Wakka and Lulu so much). That being said, this is a great submission, but very basic because it is her signature photo and what most of us who know the series were expecting. The outfit is classic and the modeling potential is there, so there's nothing much to critique about this photo. Since this is round one and you need something to grow on though, I urge you to think outside the box with your submissions and bring us unexpected submissions that will wow us. You have the potential, so please bring it.
And drink your milk.
Doctor: Your outfit and hair are sooo busy. I love that you have no background and the pose is good. My favorite parts are those gorgeous green eyes and your subtle grin. I think you did well. This is a great choice for this first shoot. It shows your potential while not coming off too strong. You've room to grow and I think you can do very well. Just be sure to listen to the advice we give you and you'll do great.
Samus Aran
Jensen: I like this. I love the body and the length. I don't love the distractions. But because so many did it, I actually went back to read to make sure I remembered to say no distractions lol I did, but you weren't the only one. I love your face and body in this. Good job.
Ariel: A fine first submission from you Miss Aran. It's very elegant, while at the same time a little slutty. You look like a futuristic street walker, and with a "clear time" of 2:35, you must be very efficient. The pose is on point, the body is banging, and there's not much to really critique with this look. This is the first round of the game, and when I judge (especially this round), I love to give the models something to grow on. My advice to you is that I feel we could fall into a little bit of a tomboy slump. The "girl with a gun" thing is cute and all, but show us your beauty in a way that doesn't always make us fear for our lives if we throw out a bad critique or two.
This photo is phenomenal though, and I have 3 minutes to spare so meet me in my trailer in 5, kay?
Doctor: You did excellent this shoot. In future rounds, if you're to be wearing your battle suit...be sure you don't lose your form. You succeeded this shoot, but I'm not sure if that is well thought out or luck. Either way, be aware that this is a potential issue.
