For this photo shoot, I am channeling Poseidon, the mythical God of the Sea. The sea element obviously works in my favor and I think I wear the crown and trident very nicely. A more mature version of Ariel also demonstrating my power and maturity as I take control of the sea from my daddy. <3
Jensen: I glanced over the photos as they were being submitted and I am BLOWN away at how well everyone did this round. Ariel, this is so fucking amazing!!! I cannot think of one single negative thing to say and all the positives are too many to list. So great fucking job!!!
Doctor: The very first thing I noticed is your necklace. That's the same necklace Ursula used to hold the voice she stole from you. So the real question here is whose voice have you stolen? Hm. Maybe Korra's? xD While I wish you would've thought outside of the ocean for this shoot...we all know you did amazing. <3
Rei: Some people may find the choice of Poseidon to be predictable, but there aren't many marine-based fictional characters that we would be familiar with, so I don't have a problem with it. What keeps this photo from being more of the same is that you so a completely different attitude here. You're channeling your inner Emma Frost with this shot, so you probably hate yourself quite a bit at this point. But seriously, I absolutely love the attitude and that itself is so different from anything you've given us so far. On top of that, I love your hair and your accessorizing. I wish the same level of detail was given to your lower body, but it still looks fine. Overall, another strong shot.
Ghastly (Pokemon)
For this challenge Elsa is portraying a humanized version of the ghost pokemon Ghastly. I love how there's a creepiness yet also a playfulness to her eyes and pose, which captures the way Ghastly is portrayed in the series. Physically, the pointy teeth and gauzy purple clothing also help further illustrate this portrayal. And the fact that the ghost in the background looks like a Gengar doesn't hurt either.
Jensen: This is gorgeous!!! And unique, man alive, this is unique. I mean seriously, a pokemon? Great job!!! Like Ariel, I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this. I am literally amazed at this.
Doctor:
Rei: This is definitely a great change of place. Your shots were starting to become a bit homogenous, but this really breaks up your normal routine. Love your outfit, that's a really nice pose, and you've met the theme in a creative manner. Good job.
Mercedes is technically a hero character class on the popular MMORPG, MapleStory. However, unlike regular classes, this class follows the story of the character, who was frozen in time after a battle with the black mage.
Jensen: I LOVE this photo of Emma. It's one of my all time favourites. It's so gorgeous and sexy and unique. I love the comparison. Very good job!!! I dont' know how to critique this round because I've got nothing I can say other than gorgeous and omg and fucking great lmfao
Doctor: The booty pop is a bit off-putting for me because it looks dirty. xD Other than that, you look flawless. <3 I wish you had gone a different route though. This was the perfect chance for you to do as I had suggested and look out of the box for something more vulnerable or to show a different side of you. Instead, you chose to mimic a character which looks just like you. It's a fantastic photo and this doesn't affect my judging, just a wasted opportunity IMO.
Rei: This is definitely a softer Emma, but not a completely different side. I'm in no rush for that right now cause I have faith vulnerable Emma will come where it's appropriate. This shot has a stunning visual impact. Once again, you have very strong posing and great fashion. Great work.
As you hopefully can see I choose a pic that as soon as I saw it reminded me of Sabrina The Teenage Witch.
Jensen: I totally see Sabrina. I was hoping you would choose this one or your first one. This was the best and most obvious connection. At first I thought Bewitched because of the broom and the moon, but you totally look like a young teenage witch so it's obviously great!!! Great job!!!
Doctor: I was personally hoping you'd choose a different one you had in your journal. Oh wells. This was my 2nd fave. <3 While I can see Sabrina the Teenage Witch (especially the cartoon version) in this...there is slight inaccuracies. Mainly the pumpkin play. Sabrina, to my memory, never used pumpkins in her magic. So to have it included takes away from the illusion. I don't think the fault lies in the photo, but in your choice in who you mimic. I would've gone for someone known to use pumpkins (like Blair from Soul Eater). There are many out there. Anyhoo...great photo. Love the maniacal laugh. <3
Rei: Well, this is a fun shot. I like that it shows off Harley's manic side well. I can easily see the connection to your fictional character and it's an overall solid shot. Not the most dramatic or impactful shot, but it's fun and adds a nice diversity to your portfolio.
Jensen: The Doctor was worried about you not having anything so he went on a search to make sure you had this challenge covered. I am really glad to see you found something. I love the pose and the outfit. You know what's weird, I'm never really distracted by that one eye issue so that's good.
Doctor: You don't seem to have the eye issue this round, but I believe the artist modeled their work after official artwork. I found better options than this, but I'm glad you found something decent. My only issues with this choice is the quality of the photo itself and your missing left hand. Anatomically...in that positioning, we should see some remanence of your hand somewhere. Overall, not bad. Keep improving.
Rei: You've obviously met the theme, so we don't need to worry about that. You've really pulled up the modeling in this shot and it's a great pose. Your eye isn't awkward at all, but it could just be because that's the actual character design for Leela. This shot could have looked a bit more professional to really blow us away, but you do keep improving.
img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100427194235/masseffect/images/a/ac/Miranda_Character_Box.png
I went with this one because I like the opposing Timelines between the two character. Morrigan comes from a Medieval Fantasy world much like Lord of the Rings. Miranda on the other hand comes from an era further into the future where we have space travel and aliens. I like how much these two character do have similarities despite the large gap in time. I also found a picture of Morrigan dressed up as Morrigan(DarkStalkers) which would have been hilarious but the quality was not great and had the deviantart logo in the center of it.
Jensen: I'm glad you included reference links because without them, I'm clueless. I think you fit the look exactly and it's a good job. The problem I'm having is the overall quality, was this done to look like this on purpose, or is it an image issue. I love your strong face. It's a good one.
Doctor: The pixelation destroys the photo's quality and your pose is very bland & stiff. There's no excuse for poor posing at this stage. Not your best work. Love the character choice though.
Rei: Miranda's a bitch. That said, you really do resemble her closely. The outfit looks so much like hers while adjusting it to meet your color preferences. I do think your ability as a mage translates well into the Biotic role. I do have complaints about the quality of the image as you look overly pixelated. The pose is nice, but the shot could have been enhanced with more a setting.
Rapunzel & Toothless as Daenerys & Drogon from Game of Thrones
Rapunzel: My fictional character is Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones. Known as the 'Mother of Dragons', she is the daughter of King Aerys II Targaryen and is one of the last surviving members of House Targaryen. After being mistreated and “infantilized” by her brother, she finds strength and leadership in taking the time to understand and show compassion for those around her. I think the photo above represent Daenerys' characteristic.
Jensen: When I first saw this, I was thinking, Never Ending Story!! But then I read your blurb and now I totally get it. It's fantastic!!! You are one of our top girls for sure and you never cease to amaze me!!! I love your fierce expression and the whole photo as a visual!!!
Doctor: Excellent choice and very creative execution. I love the idea of mixing films in order to pull this off. However, for me...Toothless steals your spotlight. You look very dull in comparison to him. If we ignore Toothless for a minute...you look fierce, as Jensen said, and determined.
Rei: Yeah, Toothless may steal some of your spotlight, but that's due in part to his head being more in the foreground and he's making eye contact while you're not. That aside, this is a fantastic shot. I love the action of the shot and how you managed to pull off the theme this round. It was very well thought out.
Persephone was a beautiful and the minor deity of spring. One day, Hades fell in love with her that he kidnapped her to the underworld. During her time in the Underworld, Persephone had eaten one pomegranate. If a person eats a single bit of food while they're in the Underworld they must stay there forever. However, Persephone said she had really just been thirsty and had drunk the juice from the fruit, and only swallowed six seeds. Hades claimed her as his Queen, but Zeus ruled that she would spend six months in the Underworld with Hades for the six seeds she had swallowed, and six months with Demeter outside of the Underworld.
Jensen: This is brilliant!!! You really hold your own in this game Sess!! I have nothing negative to say about this photo. It's amazing!!!
Doctor: As a Greek Myth geek...I got this right away. <3 Excellent choice. On a side note and I hate to repeat myself, but again...you lose form. The thing that I can't get over though, in all the games I've judged...you're the ONLY model that has managed to pull it off time and time again. That alone impresses me. So if it works...keep it up. lol Just be careful is all.
Rei: Yeah, I would have liked to see more form from your body, but that's the only negative I have for you. I love the connection you went for and it's definitely there. It's a beautiful and haunting shot. Love the connection between you and Persephone here, too. Sesshomaru hanging tough with the ladies
Jensen: Ohhhhhhh This is really fitting. I like this. You look odd in this photo, not like yourself, but overall, everything else is fitting. I love the castle in the background and the vines all around you, like the pumpkin vines that became part of the stage coach. The shoeless foot is a good touch. There's a lot of elegance to this photo.
Doctor: I would've guessed Tiana before Cinderella. Either way though, excellent selection. I love the bored playfulness of this. I imagine the pumpkin carriage is late to pick you up and midnight is fast upon you. xD Good work!
Rei: I think the dress suggests Tiana (what The Doctor was getting at), but that the scene overall suggests Cinderella, so you've met the theme there. The art style feels a bit messy, but I do like your posing and your dress. It also feels like a bit of a quirky shot, so that's nice, too.
Doctor: No, that's not what I was getting at. The entire photo looks more Tiana to me than Cinderella, not just the dress. There is a high amount of vegetation & water in the shot just as there was all throughout The Frog and the Princess. Even the building in the distance resembles Lottie's mansion. Not to mention the overall color tone (mossy) better matches The Frog and the Princess than Cinderella, which was mostly in blues.
